Its official!

Well, the day has come! Raider is no longer my only blog subject. I can't bring myself to change the name yet though.... OK! On to what you are all dying to know, yes we are pregnant! Also, a CONGRATS to our good friends the Whitakers (link at right), they are due June 29th!

Here are the first ultrasound pictures, from December 2nd.

Before this picture, the baby was moving all around and "boxing" like crazy. It was really neat to see.

We find out the sex in 5 weeks. We feel like it is a boy though. We aren't sharing names, so don't ask!

Scott has already cleaned out all of the closets and moved the guest room. We had to consolidate our 3 extra bedrooms upstairs, and it has turned out nicely. He also painted the nursery a khaki base color. We are going to go back and accent later, probably with chocolate stripes.

I thought I would appreciate this in July (or hate myself).
Non-belly picture at week 12. (Friday December 18th)

Scott's trip

Scott and Jeffrey went on an 8 day bike ride through West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma. They had an amazing time and great weather the whole trip! We are glad to have them home now though.

Finally

Well, I got the pics off my new phone! Here are a few.

He loves this rug. And refused to look at me.

Random pic. The flash makes his eyes look blue.

Playing ball. This is how he protects it if you go for it. Its adorable.

His puppy from Gram. Gutted in under 30 minutes. He thinks he is killing and gutting an animal, I think he really does. Poor guy.

He also has met some new friends lately, but we dont have pics of them yet. (that was your shoutout Kayleigh, Lauren and Cecy!)

Long time

I have been super terrible at posting lately. I have a bunch of pictures of Ray on my new phone, but haven't figured out how to get them OFF the phone. LOL

Our 4 year anniversary was on June 18th. My wedding pics are on a CD somewhere, but here is one from our honeymoon in Mexico. I look really hilarious.

Country boy

Raider got a new collar today. I let him play with his old one and he broke the clasp thingy. Petsmart had a horrible selection, and hardly any Medium collars, so we ended up with this one. We know our dads will be proud.

He got a new wobbly-ball also. The other one ended up in 5 pieces, so it was time. He hasnt put it down all day.

Bloggy

We haven't posted in a while, so we went outside to take some pictures this evening. It is so amazing here in Texas, warm sun and a cool breeze. Bugs havent started to take over yet and the humidity is still below 50%.
Ray looks so muscular and tough with the sun gleaming off his coat.

I asked Raider where his friend Ranger was and this is his response:

I tried to get Raider to play fetch, but his real desire was to play with the neighbor (which he is not allowed to do), so his attention was on the back fence the entire time. Him and the neighbor dog (a full blooded German Shepherd male) love to run back and forth along the fence. Raider has made a path and hole from running so much, so we don't let him anymore. And we are back to having the sprinkler system on so the yard is pretty wet. A wet yard means the fun task of wiping feet before coming inside and I just dont have the patience to do that a million times a day.
I heard something over there:

No, no, it came from this direction.....

Relief!

Raider's surgery went well. They called me at about 1pm and said they got the tooth and root all removed. It was worse than we thought when they got in there, but Dr. Cole packed it with antibiotics and stitched him up. He was very out of it last night. He wouldn't sleep when we got home, he just laid on the floor whining under his breath. I think he was woozy from the anasthesia. When I had my wisdom teeth out, I dont remember the entire evening, but my mom wouldn't let me go to bed until 9pm. So I can't imagine what a dog feels in that situation. He wouldn't even eat, which is miraculous for him. I had to employ mommy techniques to get him to swallow his pain pill. But this morning I woke up to the normal pounding of his tail on the wall, the second he saw me roll over. We really need a bigger bedroom. He is fine today. Still a little tender, I am not letting him play with his toys. But he wolfed down his dinner and I gave him some of my dinner (cheez-its). So he is down to only left side canines. The bottom one is actually broken a bit also, but nothing serious. I am not sure he will get back into my car anytime soon, or even go into the garage for that matter. He's no dummy!

Toothfairy

Raider is all ready for his tooth extraction tomorrow. It is the bottom right canine, he broke it back in the Raider vs. crate battle in 2007 (see post). The vet didnt want to take it out when he was neutered, they only took out the top right one then. I was pretty mad to say the least. So its going to cost me several hundred dollars tomorrow for it to be taken out. I will be worried about him all day long, but it will be nice to be able to clean my house, blankets, bed, his bed, his toys and give him a bath and keep the stank away for good. The rotting tooth is really making him and anything he touches smell soooo bad.

A fresh coat of paint

I finally painted something last week. When we moved in, I went a little crazy and painted the guest bedroom, 2 bathrooms, the office, kitchen and living room. Its been over a year since I did anything else, so it was time. I picked out new colors for the living room (with the help of Tamara) and was going to buy them when one day I was sitting in the reading room and it dawned on me that one of the living room colors would go pretty fantastically in the master bathroom. So, the living room has not been painted but the outer room of our bathroom has! There wasn't enough paint left to do the toilet room, so I am still devising a plan for that. It is the same color that will be the new fireplace accent, when I get around to repainting the living room. I forgot how much work it was, or I have grown old since painting last, but this was harder than I remember! Pics!

And - my next project is replacing those lights. Stupid homebuilders and their cheap fixtures!
